Let’s say you’re a marketer and on today’s to-do list you’ve got to make a pricing page.
How do you do figure out how to do it?
The easiest, no-brainer way to structure your pricing page would be to copy others.
See how a successful page structures it’s landing page, and emulate that.
It might not be the perfect match for your own business, but it’s useful to see what others are doing and emulate those.
This is called a “Swipe File.”
Back in the day people used to keep swipe files full of direct mail in physical folders:
As the world went more and more digital, and the files they were swiping were digital also, people started keeping their swipe files in folders on their desktop. I do this, and and it’s extremely useful:
The problem with swipe files though, is they are often kept privately, not shared, and not well categorized.
“A great swipe file should be categorized, curated, and cropped.”
You’re goddamn right I’m quoting myself on that one!
A great Swipe File Should be Categorized:
You want the files to be filed away in their respective categories such as pricing or sales pages.
A Swipe File Should be Curated:
You only want GOOD QUALITY swipes in each category. How do you know if they’re good? By making sure the person collecting the swipes is good. I’m arguably one of the best copywriters on the net right now, regularly do client work 2 times a week, the rest of the time write one of the top copywriting blogs, am part of multiple large businesses running the largest email lists on the net, and I get to see actual results from a lot of pages. This makes me a pretty good curator of content.
A Swipe File Should be Cropped:
You do not want a giant-ass file of junk to sort through. Once you get past a certain size, your swipe file becomes too cumbersome to search through. Stuff like “1,500 Great Swipe File Pieces PDF!!!” are a popular giveaway, but they are almost useless because they are too big.
This is my personal and public swipe file that’s free for all to use. It’s already Categorized, Curated, and Cropped for you:
P.S. It takes time and money to keep this swipe file updated. Since we won’t ever be charging for this, all we ask is you kindly share or mention SwipeFile.io to someone who would find it useful. Thank you, and enjoy!
P.P.S. Got any suggestions for SwipeFile.io or want something specific added? Let me know in the comments here.
